BIBLE TEACHER & CHRISTIAN WRITER/SPEAKER

Liz Cobo

Hey friend, welcome to my online home. If we were in my kitchen I'd pour you a cup of french press coffee or glass of ice cold lemonade. We'd sit down, start to chat, and pretty quickly you'd find out how passionate I am about God's Word and it's proper handling.

A few years after I was saved, the Lord planted a seed in my heart that has grown into a hunger for His Word. And I just can't stop talking about and encouraging other women to develop a daily, disciplined, and diligent study of the Bible.

As a Bible teacher, writer, and speaker I'm on a mission to biblically equip "found" Christian women to engage the "lost." Nothing will change a person's earthly life more than forming an eternal relationship with Jesus. The Bible is an essential part of that relationship and biblical aliteracy is crumbling the foundations of Christianity. When we don't know what the truth is, we're prone to believe lies about who God is and how God operates. I believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and the inerrant word of God. It is a privilege and an honor I don't take lightly to have been given the spiritual gift of teaching to equip other women with biblical truth.

I am currently enrolled in the Master's of Christian Apologetics program at Biola University's Talbot School of Theology. It's been a fascinating and wonderful experience to return to academia almost 25 years after receiving my undergraduate degree.

Since graduating with a degree from the University of Oregon in 2001 in Journalism & Communication, I have had many "careers" and reinventions over the years. I've worked for two startup companies and had my own small businesses as a professional wedding and engagement photographer, as a website/graphic designer and as a marketing consultant. I even worked for several seasons on a reality show (trust me — it's probably not what you're thinking).

I spent much of the first half of my "career" life resisting God's call to ministry because I was afraid of the cost. As I came to a fuller understanding of the price Jesus paid for me, the cost of following Him and dedicating my life to doing the work he has called me to has become a price I am absolutely willing to pay. It is also my favorite and most rewarding work I've ever done.

My hope is that in these pages and through my words, you will begin to develop a richer "heart soil," in which the Lord will be faithful to plant the seed of Scripture (Matthew 13).

If you haven't been told, I want to tell you, God IS faithful, good and for you. You will come to see that, understand it, and believe it when you study the Bible. The Bible is the story of God and his love for us, his greatest creation. The Creator of Heaven and Earth desires to have a deep, ongoing relationship with you.

I believe we are made for more than just doing what makes us happy. I believe in living a life that glorifies God and blesses others. I desire to leave people and places better than I found them - closer to Jesus and one day nearer his kingdom.

My husband and I have been married since 2004 and have one child, our daughter. We live on my family's cattle ranch in far (far) northern California. As a family we are rooted by our faith in Christ, guided by God's Word and driven to share the truth of the Gospel.

COUNTRY OR CITY

coffee or tea

sweet or salty

warm or cold

spring or summer

jeans or dressES

morning or night

I'd choose the country over the city any day.

French Press coffee every morning!

Salty for sure. Unless you've got a box of See's Candy.

How about right in the middle?

Summer... because camping and dinners outside are the best.

Almost always jeans. But I do love a dress from time to time.

Early mornings in the quiet stillness spent digging into God's Word.
