Getting the Christmas Cards in the Mail... On Time! - Elizabeth Langford

I'm Liz and God designed me to be an encourager, a dreamer, a story teller and most importantly, a Kingdom builder.

hello, friend

I'm glad you're here.

Getting the Christmas Cards in the Mail… On Time!

At Home

In a world so focused on immediate gratification and digital delivery, snail mail has taken a back seat… but don’t you just love it? ┬áNot the junk mail that shows up every Wednesday. Not the endless catalogs that fill up your teeny tiny mailbox (although Pottery Barn, Athleta and Sundance can fill my mailbox any day). But the handwritten notes and letters that come less and less often. It’s so much easier to post to someone’s Facebook wall or send them a quick email or text. And don’t get me wrong, I love those things too. But I really do love the excitement and surprise that comes from opening your mailbox and finding an unexpected letter or note from someone you love. So of course that means that I love the holiday season when the junk mail has to compete with the brightly colored envelopes containing the beautiful holiday cards (I especially love the ones with photos) of my dear family and friends.

This year I was very proud of myself to have gotten my Christmas cards in the mail on time. Meaning that most people received our card right before Christmas. In between lots of holiday parties, weddings, vacations and a myriad of other things getting those cards in the mail was like a small victory. Better yet was knowing that I got to send a little joy to those I love the most.

A huge thank you to Shannon K Photography for our beautiful photos for this year’s card. She is a fabulous photographer and did a great job capturing and controlling Lily’s unending energy!
